Outlay — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Outlay ("the app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

The service

Outlay helps you track expenses, income, and budgets, and lets you scan receipts to auto-fill transaction details using on-device text recognition. Your data is stored locally on your device and synced to a private Supabase project so it's available across your devices.

Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You may delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen.

Subscriptions & billing

• Outlay offers an optional Pro subscription with additional features (e.g. unlimited receipt scans). Free-tier limits are shown in the app.
• Subscriptions are billed and managed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see or store your payment details.
• Renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled per Apple's and Google's respective store policies. To cancel, manage your subscription in your device's App Store / Play Store account settings.

Your data & accuracy

Receipt scanning uses on-device text recognition and may occasionally extract incorrect amounts, dates, or merchant names — always review scanned entries before saving. Outlay is a personal tracking tool, not financial, accounting, or tax advice; you're responsible for verifying figures you rely on for budgeting, reimbursement, or tax filing.

Acceptable use

Don't use Outlay to store unlawful content, attempt to access other users' data, or interfere with the app's normal operation.

Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

Disclaimer & liability

Outlay is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on inaccurate scanned or calculated figures.

Changes to these Terms

If these Terms change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by the law of your residence.
