Outlay — Privacy Policy

Outlay ("the app") is an expense-tracking app developed by the Outlay team. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how it's stored, and how you can remove it.

What we don't collect

• No analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs are included in the app.
• No location data.
• No contacts, calendar, or microphone access.
• Receipt photos are processed entirely on your device using on-device text recognition (Google ML Kit). The photo itself is never uploaded — only the merchant name, amount, and date extracted from it are saved.

How your data is stored

Your data is kept locally on your device (SQLite) and synced to a private Supabase project so it's available across your devices and backed up if you reinstall the app. Row-level security ensures only you can read or write your own records — not even we can browse them through the app.

In-app purchases

Subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple App Store / Google Play. We never see or store your payment card details.

Third parties

We share data with exactly one processor: Supabase, which hosts our database and authentication. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Your rights

• Access & export: use the in-app Reports export (CSV/PDF) to download your data.
• Deletion: request account and data deletion by emailing us at the address below — we will delete your account and all associated records within 30 days.

Children's privacy

Outlay is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
